Frankston Teen Charged After High-Speed Police Chase Following Aggravated Burglary

According to police, unknown offenders forced entry into a residence on Orchard Street, Brighton, at approximately 1.45 am, stealing three high-end vehicles—a Porsche, a Mercedes, and a Land Rover.

The stolen Porsche was discovered abandoned shortly after in Mellowood Court, Carrum Downs, while the Land Rover was located on Glencairn Avenue, Brighton.

Police then observed the stolen Mercedes travelling at high speeds along the Peninsula Freeway. With the assistance of the Victoria Police Air Wing, the vehicle was tracked as it entered Melbourne’s CBD before heading onto the Monash Freeway, allegedly reaching speeds of up to 240km/h.

The pursuit came to an end between Eastlink and Peninsula Link, where police arrested the Frankston teenager. He has since been charged with multiple offences, including three counts of theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, dangerous driving, and possession of a drug of dependence.

The Frankston teen was set to appear in the children’s court the same day.

Police investigations into the incident remain ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
