BREAKING NEWS: Four Arrested Following Fatal Shooting in Rye

Homicide Squad Detectives have arrested four men in connection with the deaths of two people in Rye earlier this month.

A 25-year-old man and a 24-year-old man, both from Narre Warren, a 24-year-old man from Narre Warren South, and a 28-year-old man from Narre Warren North were taken into custody with assistance from the Special Operations Group earlier today.

The arrests come as part of an investigation into a tragic incident that occurred on Parson Street, Rye, on 2 December.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 4am following reports of an altercation. It is believed that a man and a woman attended the property and became involved in a confrontation with its residents.

Gunfire ensued, leaving a 29-year-old Rye man, a resident of the property, and a 19-year-old Mornington woman fatally injured. Despite medical efforts, both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have confirmed that the parties involved were known to each other, but further details have not been released as investigations remain ongoing.

The four arrested men are currently being interviewed by police.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
