Five Arrested After Christmas Eve Burglary in Mount Eliza

Police arrested five individuals, including three youths, after a Christmas Eve aggravated burglary in Mount Eliza involving a stolen car, a crash, and an imitation firearm.

Police have arrested five people following an alleged aggravated burglary in Mount Eliza on Christmas Eve, which led to the theft of a car and subsequent dramatic events across the region.

It’s alleged that a group entered a residence on The Ridge around 8:30 am, stealing a black Mercedes Benz. The stolen vehicle was later sighted in Carrum Downs, but the driver reportedly failed to stop when approached by police.

The situation culminated when the Mercedes crashed into a pole on Frankston-Dandenong Road around 12:30 pm. Witnesses reported seeing five people flee the scene, prompting a police search. With the assistance of public reports, officers successfully located the alleged occupants.

During the search, police also found an imitation firearm discarded near the crash site.

Those taken into custody include a 24-year-old man from Frankston North, an 18-year-old woman from Frankston, and three boys aged 14, 12, and 16, from Rosebud and Frankston South. All five are being interviewed by investigators regarding their alleged involvement.
