Duo Arrested After Violent Crime Spree Across Southeast Suburbs

Detectives from the Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit have arrested a man and a woman following a spate of violent home invasions and armed robberies across Melbourne’s southeastern suburbs over the weekend.

The pair, a 29-year-old man from Point Cook and a 41-year-old woman from Clayton South, were apprehended at Ringwood railway station on Sunday evening around 5:30 pm. Their arrests followed an extensive police search after their alleged involvement in a brutal home invasion in Kew, where a car was stolen from Brougham Street around 4:30 pm.

The Kew incident was reportedly the last in a series of violent crimes that began on Friday, February 21. During this attack, a 77-year-old woman was confronted, assaulted, and struck with a machete by the duo.
