Two Disqualified Drivers Caught Drug Driving Overnight in Seaford and Langwarrin

Somerville Highway Patrol intercepted two disqualified drivers overnight in Seaford and Langwarrin, both testing positive for drugs. Their vehicles were impounded and both will face court.

Somerville Highway Patrol officers had a busy night, intercepting two disqualified drivers within hours of each other—both of whom also returned positive roadside drug tests.

Just after midnight, a 56-year-old woman was pulled over in Seaford for driving an unsafe vehicle. Further checks revealed she was disqualified from driving, and a roadside drug test also came back positive. Her vehicle was impounded, and she will be summoned to appear before the Magistrates’ Court.

A short time later, in Langwarrin, a 32-year-old man was intercepted during a routine traffic stop. He too was disqualified from driving and tested positive for drugs. His vehicle was also impounded, and he will face court in the coming weeks.

Police say the incidents are another reminder of the ongoing risks posed by reckless and irresponsible drivers.

“We’ll be out this Easter ensuring that our Mornington Peninsula and Frankston roads are kept safe,” a post read for the Mornington Peninsula Eyewatch PoliceService.

“Please help us by making good decisions before getting behind the wheel.”

Anyone with concerns about unsafe driving can report it to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the police website.
