Dandenong, Victoria – Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a 25-year-old Springvale man in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred last month.
The incident took place on 17 February at approximately 6:30 am. A 37-year-old woman was reportedly sexually assaulted while travelling on a Route 811 bus between Dandenong Railway Station and Brighton. It is understood that the male suspect boarded the bus at Dandenong Railway Station.
On Friday, 21 March, the suspect voluntarily presented himself to the authorities and was subsequently arrested.
This arrest follows an earlier public appeal by Victoria Police, seeking assistance in identifying the individual involved in the incident.
