A routine weekday-morning intercept in Seaford has ended with a local man expected to face court, after police allege he returned a high-range breath test result and was driving without a valid licence.
Victoria Police said Somerville Highway Patrol officers stopped a vehicle in Klauer Street, Seaford, on Tuesday 10 February at about 10.30am.
Police allege the driver initially returned a positive roadside breath test before a subsequent breath test recorded a breath alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.171 per cent.
Police further allege the man was unlicensed at the time of the intercept.
Vehicle impounded, court expected
A 52-year-old Seaford man had his vehicle impounded for 30 days, police said.
He is expected to be summonsed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court at a later date. Police have not released a court date or further details.
Police message on enforcement
Police used the incident to reiterate that drink and drug driving enforcement remains a focus, with patrols continuing across the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula area.
