Man Charged Over Seaford Hit-and-Run Cyclist Collision in Seaford

Seaford, VIC — A Cranbourne North man has been charged following an alleged hit-and-run collision involving a cyclist in Seaford on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:55 am on 22 February along Nepean Highway. Police allege that a blue Volkswagen Golf struck a 53-year-old cyclist who was riding at the rear of a group before fleeing the scene without stopping.

Emergency responders treated the cyclist at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following investigations, Chelsea police charged a 20-year-old man with multiple offences, including reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous driving, careless driving, failing to render assistance, and failing to exchange details.

The man has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear before Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on 3 April.

Authorities continue to urge drivers to remain vigilant and share the roads responsibly with cyclists to prevent similar incidents.
