The long-running Pink Ladies Auxiliary has again thrown its support behind local health services, handing over a $360,000 donation to Peninsula Health at its annual general meeting.
The volunteer group — affectionately known as the “Pinkies” — has been fundraising for Frankston Hospital and surrounding services for decades. Their latest contribution will help fund new equipment, patient services and research projects across the health network.
Peninsula Health Chief Executive Helen Cooper accepted the cheque on behalf of the organisation, thanking members for their continued commitment. She also acknowledged the challenges the group has faced, including changes in its volunteer base and shortages that have affected traditional fundraising activities.
The Pink Ladies remain one of the most recognised community fundraising groups on the Peninsula. Their support has historically contributed to major upgrades and service improvements at Frankston Hospital.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the tireless efforts of the volunteers known as the “Pinkies” who serve in the café at Frankston Hospital. These ladies greet everyone with kindness and do their best to serve patients, staff, and visitors as quickly as possible.
Despite often being short-staffed, the Pinkies work with remarkable patience and good cheer. Their contribution creates a welcoming space in what can otherwise be a stressful environment, and many people are grateful for their presence.
Seeing more volunteers step forward to join their ranks would be wonderful. With additional helping hands, the Pinkies could continue to provide the friendly, efficient service that so many have come to appreciate.
The Pinkies are an essential part of our hospital community and deserve recognition, respect, and support.
