The final edition of the Somerville Times for 2024 is now rolling out, celebrating two years of community news with 20 editions of the Somerville Times and 5 editions of the Peninsula Local. Together, these publications have produced and distributed an impressive total of approximately 300,000 copies.
The Somerville Times began its journey focusing on the local stories of Somerville before expanding its coverage to include Baxter, Tyabb, Pearcedale, and Hastings. As the paper gained popularity, a growing desire from readers further south on the Peninsula inspired the creation of the Peninsula Local. This decision allowed the Somerville Times to remain true to its original vision while expanding its reach through a sister publication.
Over the past two years, the Somerville Times has consistently delivered high-quality local news, stories, and features that resonate with the community. Its expansion and success reflect the strong support from readers, contributors, and advertisers who believe in the importance of connecting and informing the Mornington Peninsula.
Be sure to grab a copy at your nearest collection point and join the celebration of this incredible milestone.
The team at STPL NEWS extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported these publications. We remain committed to providing authentic, engaging, and community-focused content that celebrates the Mornington Peninsula’s unique character.
