Australian country music powerhouse Brad Cox is heading to Frankston for the first time, bringing his high-energy live show to Pier Bandroom on Saturday, 15 March 2025.
Fresh off a massive year, Cox has been busy touring, recording, and collecting awards. His latest album, Acres, secured three Golden Guitar Awards in January 2024, winning Male Artist of the Year, Contemporary Country Album of the Year, and Top Selling Country Album of the Year. With multiple ARIA nominations, millions of streams, and a rapidly growing fanbase, Cox is solidifying his place at the top of Australia’s country music scene.
Life on the Road & Touring with a Mack Truck

In an exclusive interview, Cox spoke about his extensive touring schedule, life on the land, and his excitement about performing in Frankston for the first time.
“I don’t think so. I’ve been just next door. But mate, I can’t, I can’t remember, to be honest. I yeah, we’ve we’ve played all through that country… Yeah, looking forward to it. Well, as a first time we’ve ever been at the actual Frankston.”
A unique feature of his current tour is the branded Mack truck that carries his gear—though he clarified a common misconception.
“Yeah. Well, I think there’s this, there’s this perception that I drive, I drive the truck, but I very much can, but I don’t. We have a truck driver that tours with us… I’m actually driving it this weekend.”
The partnership with Mack Trucks Australia and Hallway Rentals has allowed him to customise his tour production, making it bigger and better for fans across the country.
“Yeah, mate, did a deal with Mac Australia and hallway rentals, a great company from Wagga in NSW there. And yeah, man, we’ve been allowed allowed us to kind of put all the staging and props that we want to into that truck and, and put on a really cool show over the last few months.”
New Music: ‘I’m a Boxer’ Drops Just Days Before Frankston Show

Cox’s brand-new single, ‘I’m a Boxer,’ is set for release on 12 March 2025—just three days before his Frankston gig.
“It is my brand new one. It’s, it’s a little bit far away from, I mean, I like we like to call it country adjacent music. Yeah, we always grew up in country music, but there’s definitely been a shift in the sound in the last 12 months. And yeah, excited to share that one pretty soon.”
Recording a New Album & Songwriting Inspiration
While tight-lipped about specifics, Cox confirmed he is currently in the studio working on a new album.
“Yeah, mate, yeah, I’ve been in the studio a bunch recently and yeah, a few weeks, few weeks this month just gone and yeah, working on working on a big more new new music to come out later in the year.”
When asked about the inspiration behind his songwriting, he kept things open-ended.
“Oh, man, I bet. Yeah, I’ve been a lot of changes in my life in the last few years navigating this very strange industry they call the music industry. Entertainment industry is always, always a few yarns and whatever. And yeah, man, it’s it’s look, I don’t like the dog too much into the actual songs because I think that’s the beauty of music. Yeah. Everyone can kind of choose their own own narrative when it comes to what it means to them.”
Balancing Touring & Life on the Land

Despite his hectic tour schedule, Cox loves returning home to his property in Central Queensland, where he and his partner Sammy White unwind between tours.
“Oh, absolutely, man. Like, I mean, that’s why we have it here, so that when we when we come home, we get to chill out and and recharge so that we can give everything in the touring. But yeah, that’s exactly what we have.”
Even though fishing is a big passion, he admitted it’s difficult to find time for it while on tour.
“I know. I mean, the touring is pretty, pretty hectic schedule. It’s it can be, it can be pretty demanding, late nights, early mornings, lots of travel. So it’s it’s hard to find those things. I think that’s the reason we try and travel once or twice a year, not to do with music or I might never go and see anything till I’m fifty.”
When asked about whether he’d trade Queensland for Victoria, Cox was quick to dismiss the idea.
“Oh mate, to be honest, I don’t think I don’t think I’ll ever live anywhere else but too cold and enjoy for me now, mate.”
Why You Should See Brad Cox Live in Frankston
For anyone unfamiliar with his music, Cox recommends starting with his latest album.
“Oh, probably the latest one, mate. Acres. Yeah, Acres. It’s yeah, I mean that’s my best work today, but I might get busy. They can just listen to all of them.”
With country music gaining momentum in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula, Cox believes his show will connect with new and old fans alike.
