BAXTER – The Baxter Men’s Shed has officially reopened after a two-year journey to rebuild following a devastating fire in December 2023.

The grand reopening took place yesterday at the Baxter-Tooradin Road site, with members from Men’s Sheds across the Mornington Peninsula joining in the celebration. The event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Shed President Graham and Councillor Kate Roper, followed by a lunch where attendees shared stories about the Shed’s history.

During the rebuilding period, members continued to stay connected by meeting at the Baxter Community Hall and Baxter CFA. Their perseverance ensured that the Shed’s strong sense of community remained intact.

Men’s Sheds provide a vital space for social interaction, skill-sharing, and community projects, particularly benefiting retired and older men. The reopening of the Baxter Men’s Shed marks a significant milestone in its ongoing role as a hub for local residents.
